Snapshots of Living in LA...

Who killed the Electric Car?

In a city where the car is crucial and no widely used public transport exits, the below appears so much more out of place than it really should...

Our mates in LA

Ev's best friend in LA is Sarah, another Aussie who is originally from Perth but has lived here for 13 years (she married an American). Her daughter Alex is Mia's best friend and they go to pre-school together...some pics of Mia and Alex hanging out at an amusement park called Adventureland.

Mia & Pre-school
Mia's first pre-school, Kinder Garden was ok...a good starter..

Then we changed her to another pre-school which is by far better, Magic Rainbow.
The school is excellent, very creative and relaxed. Their space is divided into activity areas rather than a formal classroom situation. They take them on field trips to concerts, Aquariums and even swimming lessons are coming up! Mia also does Spanish class both afternoons. She goes Tuesday and Thursday all days..
Alex also goes to her new school.

On excursions, they wear these shirts so that teachers can keep track of everyone, and they take the yellow school bus..

House of Blues

Work party. Very interesting venue with about 3-4 different levels and lots of side rooms. Apparently this is a bit of a famed LA venue. Alby with a work friend, Charles and his wife. Colin Hayes from Men at Worked played - very strange to hear 'Down Under' and all the yanks knew the words as well...

Our first LA sporting event

Lakers first home playoff game @ Staples Centre - we managed to get some tickets and took a client and his wife to watch the game at my work's corporate suite. The Lakers won the game and Kobe scored almost 50 points (they ended up losing that playoff series).
